January 2008

Over the weekend, Rob and I ended up in the Columbus area for Jason and Janelle’s engagement session. They were friends of a good friend of mine from college, and I must admit that I was pretty scared walking into the session. Once Janelle walked in, the whole story changed. I had an awesome time (as I hope they did). Even though it was absolutely freezing, we got some great outdoor pictures before we ran into the lodge. Best of luck with all the wedding plans!

So, when I said I had gone to 3 different waterfalls for pictures, I lied. As I was processing images from what I thought was the final waterfall, I found that there were 2 more left to process- so 4 total. Not 3. Sorry! I thought the final one was Buttermilk Falls and forgot about the real Buttermilk Falls. Now I have to figure out which waterfall is the last one that I have photos of… Anyways, I tried some new things with this batch for today. I took 3-4 vertical pictures side-by-side and stitched them together in processing to be able to show more detail in more of the image. Some of the stitches worked better than others, but I think they came out pretty well!

OK, I was going to get to some more waterfall photos, but there is something I wanted to post first. The other day my husband came home for lunch and made alphabet soup. I couldn’t resist the urge to play and I came up with the following images. Please let me know what you think, I might end up using it on my site or something!

And with that being done, I am going to be working on the last of my waterfall pictures!

Here are some of my favorites from the same trip I posted about yesterday, but at a different waterfall. I hope you enjoy these! As with the last set, I used some creative processing to add a little color.

There is one more set of waterfall pictures to come, so be watching for them!

While visiting my husband’s parents in Ithaca over New Year’s, my wonderful new family took me to a couple state parks through out the area to see the various waterfalls. The first one we went to was Taughannock. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the trip.

Ok, so I submitted a request to go live for my main web page last night. It should be available sometime in the next 36 hours. Keep in mind that it is a work in progress. Music is not actually there, so I wouldn’t recommend cranking up the speakers or playing around trying to figure out why you don’t hear anything. I promise, once I find a couple royalty-free songs that I actually like, there will be music. Keep checking back, and you should find changes and additions all the time!

So, I finally got a blog up. Yay! (I was making the whole process a lot more complicated than it really had to be) I finally did it though. Now that I have caught up on the things I missed blogging about, I am getting ready to send my entire site live! Enjoy but please keep in mind that it is a work-in-progress and needs a lot more work!

Well, this definitely was an interesting Christmas. We had a bunch of car issues that were not resolved in time to go home so we had to rent a car to get out to Cleveland! My parent´s house was overflowing with people, dogs, cats, and alcohol; so there was never a dull moment.

This last photo is quite possibly my favorite, but I fear that it needs a bit of explaining. I was trying to get a picture of my sister’s dog in the foreground with my big sis in the background opening her presents. Despite all my efforts, the dog refused to look. Finally, my sis had the insight to chuck the object of the dog’s interest directly at my head. Sure enough, the dog’s gaze followed and one of my sister’s Christmas presents hit my head less than a second after being visible in this photo! Merry Christmas! <Thunk>

For Thanksgiving, we shared a full house as we stayed at Rob’s mom and dad’s house. With all the running around, I managed to snap some great photos of the kids!

A little while ago, I got to shoot an engagement session for some friends from Cleveland. It was a little cold; and a little rainy, but we had an amazing time shooting at Coe Lake in the Cleveland Metroparks. Despite the less than ideal weather conditions, we got some amazing photos and had lots of fun! I look forward to shooting their wedding in August. Best of luck with all your planning!
