Senior Leave a Comment
My purpose for going out to Cleveland this past weekend was for Dane’s senior photo session. Our origional plans were to drive out to Hinkley Lake, but when I drove to his mom’s flat I fell in love with some of the stuff on the Medina square (and our plans quickly changed). Our flexibility paid off, because we got some excellent shots before we went off to Hinkley Lake.
Thanks for an awesome session and best of luck at Miami University!

This was quite the busy weekend… So I will start with something that is really bothering me.
So, there I was minding my own business, shooting a senior photo session at Hinkley Lake and in between shots I noticed that a wedding party was across the lake (it’s quite small at that point) getting photos taken as well. The bridal party was lined up in the back with the bride and groom in front for what seemed to be a pretty standard post-wedding pose. Well, there was quite a bit of wind and I (along with my husband/assistant and clients) watched as the wind took the bride’s veil and blew it off her head! Now, what makes it a disaster is that the photographer decided to lower her camera, complaining that she missed the shot when she was all set up to get a shot (ok- the veil flying away could make a really fun photo-especially since EVERYBODY was laughing their heads off, including the bride).
Seeing this, I grabbed my other lens and started running toward them snapping photos. This is what I got. Unfortunately, it isn’t what I would want to get out of a moment like this, but next time I will be ready and waiting with a zoom lens!
The absolute worst part came while in editing. I was hoping to crop the photos and be able to see some of the great expressions and I noticed that there was not one photographer standing around not doing anything, but two! AHHHH!

Well, it happened again! I took some fun photos and uploaded them to my computer into the “My Photos” folder (AKA- black hole, not likely to ever to be seen again) and found some fun shots from Easter. The only reason I was poking around that folder was to try to find a cute, recent photo of me for facebook (hmm, I wonder if I could somehow get a copy of the one on my drivers license from the DMV- I look great in it)! So, even though I have thousands of photos on my computer, none are of me from the past 6 months (year if don’t include the wedding).

Engagement Leave a Comment
Since we live so far apart and and time was running short before the wedding, we decided to do an engagement session with Joey and Elaine the day after the wedding. So, on our way back to Cleveland, we stopped in Columbus at Ohio State University for a short engagement session. The scenery was amazing- there were so many colors for this early in the spring! We got some awesome pictures (none of which I could justify taking the colors out of- so there are presently no black & white or sepia toned photos here) and had a great time! Thank you guys for giving Rachel and I the chance to work with you guys! Congratulations on the marriage! I hope you are having fun on your honeymoon!

Wow, where can I even start on this one? This past weekend was amazing! It was great working along side a good friend and inspiration (she’s actually the reason I got into photography), Rachel Linczak of Linczak Photography (their site is www.linczakphoto.com I highly recommend checking it out- they are absolutely amazing). I also got to return to Southern Ohio (where I went to college) to photograph the wedding of a couple friends. It was so wonderful to see that how devoted they are to God and to each other. Their wedding was beautiful and I have no doubts that their marriage will touch the lives of many people! Congratulations guys!
Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day (there are so many great shots that my choosing came down to closing my eyes and pointing at a number).
P.S. The layout of my template was changed and I am unsure how to make the photos larger at the present moment. If you click on each picture, it will take you to a new page of the blog with a larger version of that image (if you click on it when it is on its own page, it will be displayed as a full screen image).
