August 2008

This past weekend, I got a chance to photograph the wedding of my friends from Cleveland- Jeff and Ronda. It was absolutely amazing! Not only was it great to work with my hubby by my side, but I was surrounded by great friends all day. Plus, Jeff and Ronda were not at all like a typical bride and groom so they kept Rob and I on our toes right up to the end! We got some amazing images! Sorry! I wasn’t able to narrow down my favorites any more than this!

Most brides you catch crying or freaking out before the wedding…  I caught Ronda dancing!

And Rob caught Jeff all excited as he got into his car to leave for the church!

Another one of Rob’s… didn’t he do a great job?

Quite possibly the BEST formal picture ever!  I love the Vineyard!

This one was definitely my husband’s!

And he did a great job on this one too!

This was quite possibly the most action-packed kiss chase ever!

Can’t you just see her saying “aww come on honey- it’s just a little piece”?

Congratulations!  I hope you are having fun in La Riviera Maya!

I’m a little late in posting this, but congratulations to Jessica and Jerimiah Riel on the birth of their beautiful baby girl!  Her name is Isabella Hope Riel.

The highlight of my weekend (besides my first wedding anniversary) was getting to work with Jessica and Rick. We had met earlier, and I liked them immediately. They are both fun and energetic. It really was a lot of fun shooting them! To make it a double-dose of fun, I got to break in my husband for his first-ever photo shoot with a camera in his hand (a big promotion from being my slave- err assistant)!

We met out at Hirum College for the shoot and thankfully, the weather held until just after the sun set (talk about perfect timing). Unfortunately, we had to cut the shoot short so we could get on the road, but we got some great shots anyway (still too many for me to narrow it down to my usual 5 or 6)!

Rick and Jessica will be getting married next month. Congratulations and best of luck in your planning!

Well, I must say that it was a very interesting weekend that ended with a bang.  Well, not really a bang- more of the deflating of a tire on the way home.  It took us almost 6 hours to make it from Cleveland to Buffalo last night and now I know how people feel stranded on the side of a major highway!  Fortunately, we still had AAA and got it taken care of with out breaking the bank.  Just a work of advice- if you are going on a trip where you need alot of stuff in the car, pack as much as humanly possible in the backseat so it is easier to get to the spare tire in the rain.  Also, pull out your spare tire and if it is not a full-size tire, replace it with one.  Donuts are only rated to 35 miles per hour, so it will shred if you go above that and some smaller tires will be ok up to 50.  I’d recommend having a standard tire in the back- especially if you are going to be a long ways from home.  That way, you can just get back to driving and not have to worry about keeping your speed down so you do’nt shred that tire too!
