June 2009

This past week has been crazy- I spent a week in North Carolina helping my big sis who is on bed rest (and due to have her first child any day now) and flew directly into Cleveland to see the rest of my family and do Kelsey’s senior photos.  I must admit that I just wanted to climb in bed and take a long nap when it was time for the session to start (especially since my flight arrived 20 minuntes behind schedule when I had only 45 minutes before our scheduled meet up time).  The weather was too great to postpone again and I must say that I was really happy that I pushed myself on.  Once we started out the session my mood changed.  Not only was Kelsey an awesome model, but our moms took over my husband’s typical job of comic relief.  It was a blast!  We didn’t have too much planned out in terms of location- other than that we would drive around downtown until we found what we wanted and that definitely payed off.  We started out by a couple of awesome old churches, spent some time by the house of blues, played with the bugs (visited the beach), and did a bit of studio work.

Beall 136My second favorite spot of the night- part of that same old church!
(and to think that I almost left this photo out!)

Anyone who follows my work knows that I hate studio photography and avoid it like the plague.  If you look back through my blogging history you will find one, maybe two other places where I have posted studio work.  Typically, I find it dreadfully boring and my pictures often reflect it.  Kelsey’s easy-going attitude and love of cats as well as  Zucco’s crazy antics made the last leg of the session not only tolerable, but actually quite fun (as I am sure you will be able to see in the coming set of pictures)

Now if only I could train Pixel to quit destroying my backdrops and be a camera junkie like Zucco!

Thanks Sue and Kelsey for an awesome session!

Last weekend, I went to Kristin’s bacherolette party at Butterwoods in Williamsville.  We had a lot of fun at the party (I won’t spoil any of the secrets for Dan though- sorry).
