This past weekend, I went camping with my husband at Letchworth State Park. I had been there once before, but what I got to see of the park was rather limited (we only saw the main waterfall and a picnic area). I was amazed at all this park had to offer! It was a rough weekend to be camping- the first stormy weekend we’ve really had so far. We managed to survive and stay dry (and have fun) though. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our little getaway- enjoy!

I love this rock formation- it looks like a man watching over the valley and winding river below. I named him George.
This is from an awesome overlook that has the sweetest story attached to it (I filled in a lot of the gaps in my mind). There is a secluded overlook with an awazing view; that of course, requires quite a hike to get to (even though you can see it from the main road). On one edge of this clearing/overlook, there is a park bench with a plaque on it about someone proposing there. How sweet would that be- to be hiking with the one you love, stop to check out an amazing view with just the two of you, maybe have a picnic lunch, catch a glimpse of that bench with your names on it, and then look over to see your love down on one knee with an engagement ring…
A couple birds flying over the “grand canyon of the east”
I love water falls.
Somewhere over the rainbow…
This was shot with a 50 mm lens. So that deer is really quite close. It let us get even closer, but I don’t have any good shots of it looking at us that were closer than this.
More waterfalls. I love that beam of light coming through the trees!
If I had a view like that, I would be growing out of the ground too…
I love this guy- it looks like an osterich to me! His name is Sam.
A close up with Sam.
A little cave
Loving the downed tree in the background!
Part of the waterfall Letchworth is known for.
Another part of that waterfall. I heard the train coming and started running out to get a picture- stepped in a really deep puddle on the way, but it was SO worth it!
