I must admit that last weekend, I was dreading Becky and Jason’s wedding. It was a crazy week leading up to it- between taking care of a sick husband and trying to make arrangements to cover the wedding in the event I got what he had- or if he turned out to be the dreaded swine flu and wasting an entire day sitting in the emergency room with him to get tested for it (which they never did- after sitting there for several hours)… On top of that, I had only met the bride one time and google maps apparently doesn’t have the address I was supposed to meet them at in their system and no one would answer their phones… all the while, I felt so guilty about making my mom of Pell Photography (www.pellphotography.com) drive all the way in from Cleveland to shoot second for me because Rob was still too miserable to move.
So- yeah, by the time I got in my car to drive out there I was ready to call it a day. All that changed when I finally made it over to the house for a couple pictures. Becky looked absolutely stunning and her never faltering smile was, thankfully, much more contagious than whatever virus my husband was fighting with all week. It was so great to see a woman so in love with her soon-to-be husband and without any shred of a doubt that her smile never left her face (even when we tried some serious pictures- the smile prevailed). The whole bridal party was just as happy and fun as Becky! These guys were game for just about anything Mom and I could think to throw at them! I even got the suprise of seeing the pastor from my church, David Zastrow (http://aweddingjustforyou.org/) officiate the ceremony (although he left his son’s bicycle complete with the training wheels at home- he rode it down the isle during the first service I went to). All in all, it ended up being one of my favorite weddings to have been able to photograph so far (and one of the hardest to narrow down pictures for this part)!
The gorgeous bride, moments before leaving for the hall.
This was taken as the ceremony was about to start- I love how she is peeking over the railing…
The ceremony by the gazebo…
Not even the rain that started as they were exchanging rings could take her smile away!
We had a bit of play time before the reception…
I love these kids! They are so much fun!
My mom is a really bad influence… Ha ha!
This spawned a new house rule- you can only play on the banister while wearing your special tuxedos.
I would laugh my butt off if I get a call from their mom in 10 yrs or so because they slid down the banister while getting ready for prom!
Too sweet a moment to pass up…
A loving moment between Jason and his mom (come on-it can’t be all about Becky)
A little cake detailing…
I love watching the expressions go from excitement to pure horror
when the girl realizes just how far up the leg the guy will put the garter in front of all those people…
Ring time!
Thanks Jason and Becky for being such an amazing couple! We wish you many years of love and happiness!
