Last weekend, I was out by Shakeaspere Hill taking engagement pictures for Don & Ellen- we were fighting the weather the whole time so I grabbed this as we were walking to th next spot. IMG_9847

Just a quick post to hold you over while I decide which photos to post from their session…

Hey everyone!  Sorry to have been silent for so long!  I have alot of older stuff to blog about, including parts of our trip to Cincinatti (yes, that was back in August).  While we were in Cincinatti, Rob and had to compromise- I wanted to spend most of the weekend at Ikea, and he wanted to spend the whole time at the Creation Museum.  So, on our first day there, we hit Ikea (and I suceeded in making Rob fall in love with the store).  The next day we went to the Creation Museum until lunch and then back the next day.  Honestly, I was dragging my feet about going- I wanted to stay back and go swimming, sleep in, or o back to Ikea.  I ended up being happy that we had set aside 2 days for the museum.  If you are ever in Cincinatti, I highly recommend stopping by!  Here are a few of my favorite shots from the museum-

One thing I have to say about this place, (aside from its cool stuff)
Is that there were so many displays with really interesting lighting.

IMG_6853I fell in love with these signs!  They were scattered through out- sadly, none for sale in the gift shop!

IMG_7178the gardens- they are going to be amazing once they finish!
I have been trying to talk Rob into building one of these for our backyard…

The time has come to post the contest results…

Sweeney1470This photo can be found in the “I do” gallery of the main page (photo #6 I think).

These are the bride and groom’s rings placed on some fake grapes (I do agree with Sarah that they look like blackberries) that were on a table with the guestbook (it was out in the hallway,  just before you walked in to the banquet room).

Great job to Sarah and Meghan for finding and identifying this picture to earn Kristin and Dan $10.00 in free photos!

This contest is for everyone at Dan and Kristin’s wedding yesterday…

Somewhere on my main webpage www.rebeccajewellphotography.com I have hidden a picture from Dan and Kristin’s wedding.  Once you find it, come back to this post and leave a comment that includes your name, a brief description of the photo you think was from their wedding, and where you found it.  The contest ends at noon on Friday- at that time the comments will be made visible and the mystery photograph will be posted.

This is a difficult picture to spot- so for each comment that correctly identifies the picture and where it is, the bride and groom will get $5.00 in photo credits for free!  Only one comment per person though.

Happy hunting!

I had done some pictures in the past for both Alyssa and Lauren individually and, being best friends, they were sad that Alyssa would be leaving next week for college in Maryland.  With Alyssa’s move in date coming closer, the girls wanted some pictures of the two of them.  We initially had planned to do our pictures at an old ice cream stand in Orchard Park, but since we had storms looming I decided to stick around here and try out some spots I had found around the neighborhood.  This was the second time I got stopped by the cops while taking pictures of Lauren- this time we were setting up right behind the police station in Depew and some of the officers were wondering what we were doing (the crack houses were a few streets over yat)… Ha ha!  We had a great time and got some great pictures.  Thanks for a great session and good luck in college Alyssa!

Friends0002I love the effect created by a gap in the bridge overhead.

This past weekend, My husband and I took a mini-vacation to Cincinnati, Ohio to go to my college roommate’s wedding.  Ali was very insistent on having me there as a friend and not having to work; but really, I don’t know what to do at a wedding anymore if I’m not taking pictures!  I couldn’t resist taking pictures of Ali- she made such a beautiful bride that my camera was crying inside of its bag to come out to play.  She had hired a local photographer to photograph her wedding, so I did my best to stay out of the way and grab some shots that would have been left otherwise.  Here are the moments I couldn’t let pass!

of Ali dancing with her dad.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful as well as a lot fun.  Congratulations guys and we wish you many blessings in the years to come!

The mystery picture was identified by Becky, the bride from Saturday’s awesome wedding!

Now I think it is only fair that I unveil the mystery image (it was in the opening slideshow- 1/2way through and the background of my schedule page).

Caldwell1027

As much as I like my new logo, I think it is time for some new business cards!

So you caught me- I am not ready to post pictures from Becky and Jason’s wedding that was this past Saturday (I can’t narrow down my favorites enough- so I need another day or two to decide).  However, as I mentioned- I have all these new favorite photographs!  One in particular is so perfect that I couldn’t help putting it on my main webpage.

On with the contest info-
Stop by the main part of my website (www.rebeccajewellphotography.com and click on the link labeled “Visit Site”, it will be the photo on the left).  Take some time and look around- I have posted a new picture from Becky & Jason’s wedding (it is on there twice) somewhere in the midst of all my older stuff.  Whoever can find it, and let me know breifly describing what it is and where it is will get a free $25.00 print credit!  To let me know you found it, just send me a comment on here.

The winner and mystery image will be posted at 5 PM on Friday.
Good luck and happy hunting!

This past weekend, I went camping with my husband at Letchworth State Park.  I had been there once before, but what I got to see of the park was rather limited (we only saw the main waterfall and a picnic area).  I was amazed at all this park had to offer!  It was a rough weekend to be camping- the first stormy weekend we’ve really had so far.  We managed to survive and stay dry (and have fun) though.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our little getaway- enjoy!

IMG_5207

I love this rock formation- it looks like a man watching over the valley and winding river below.  I named him George.

IMG_5319This is from an awesome overlook that has the sweetest story attached to it (I filled in a lot of the gaps in my mind).  There is a secluded overlook with an awazing view; that of course, requires quite a hike to get to (even though you can see it from the main road).  On one edge of this clearing/overlook, there is a park bench with a plaque on it about someone proposing there.  How sweet would that be- to be hiking with the one you love, stop to check out an amazing view with just the two of you, maybe have a picnic lunch, catch a glimpse of that bench with your names on it, and then look over to see your love down on one knee with an engagement ring…

IMG_5327aA couple birds flying over the “grand canyon of the east”

IMG_5382I love water falls.

IMG_5447Somewhere over the rainbow…

IMG_5354This was shot with a 50 mm lens.  So that deer is really quite close.  It let us get even closer, but I don’t have any good shots of it looking at us that were closer than this.

IMG_5407More waterfalls.  I love that beam of light coming through the trees!

IMG_5283If I had a view like that, I would be growing out of the ground too…

IMG_5276I love this guy- it looks like an osterich to me!  His name is Sam.

IMG_5280A close up with Sam.

IMG_5244Loving the downed tree in the background!

IMG_5492Part of the waterfall Letchworth is known for.

IMG_5366Another part of that waterfall.  I heard the train coming and started running out to get a picture- stepped in a really deep puddle on the way, but it was SO worth it!

Last weekend, I went to Kristin’s bacherolette party at Butterwoods in Williamsville.  We had a lot of fun at the party (I won’t spoil any of the secrets for Dan though- sorry).

Bachelorette Party 005Our beautiful bride to be, not quite sure of what is to come…
