wedding

We met Dan & Kristin through a mutual friend last summer at Buffalo’s Italian Festival and Rob & I were really excited when we got the phone call to schedule a consult.  After having spent only a few minutes together, it was as if we had been friends for much longer.  Over the past few months, Rob and I have really enjoyed getting to know Dan & Kristin.  We had so much fun with their engagement session (despite the blistery cold).  Their wedding day was nothing short of what we expected- it was really like being there for a close friend on her wedding day.  Their relationship has such a fun dynamic and it is nearly impossible not to want to join in!  Thank you guys for being so awesome and for having us along on your big day!

Now that I have your attention- on with my early favorites for the day…

Sweeney0040I had the advantage of getting to the house while the girls were still at the salon-
and had full access to all of the little stuff for a few minutes!  Some of Kristin’s details…

Sweeney0067The beautiful bride…

Sweeney0100I love this… all the bridesmaids lined up to tie each other’s sashes!
I suspect that Magdalena had a hand in staging this- being a photographer and all…

Sweeney0092Kristin and her mom- I immediately liked this woman; and then I found out that
she loves Jim Brickman too…

Sweeney0157Some of Dan’s details…

Sweeney0190Dan being all handsome in his tux…

Sweeney0356One of those moments that makes your heart melt- Kristin started crying during the vows-
and well, you can see Dan’s response.

Sweeney0705aBubbles!!!!!

Sweeney0812Love it!!!!  (on this note- Kristin, just wait until you see my newest canvas)

Sweeney0845Getting some attitude from the girls
In between fighting off the 8 other bridal parties at Glen Falls!

Sweeney0974I always look forward to the time after the wedding when I get to see my husband’s
shots for the first time (and what he does when I am not looking)
I am happy to report that I was not disappointed with the results!

Sweeney1023I think Rob has been studying at the photo dojo- how else could he have gotten this?

Sweeney1279I love my new video light!

Sweeney1347aThank you Meghan for leading the packto help me create this one!

The time has come to post the contest results…

Sweeney1470This photo can be found in the “I do” gallery of the main page (photo #6 I think).

These are the bride and groom’s rings placed on some fake grapes (I do agree with Sarah that they look like blackberries) that were on a table with the guestbook (it was out in the hallway,  just before you walked in to the banquet room).

Great job to Sarah and Meghan for finding and identifying this picture to earn Kristin and Dan $10.00 in free photos!

Kristin has become a fast friend who started out a referral from a friend way back last summer…  Rob and I are really looking forward to her wedding (tomorrow) and getting to see them shine for my camera once again.  We weren’t planning on doing abridal session since our schedules were really chaotic at the moment, but I ordered a new video light and wanted to play wiht it before the wedding.  We ended up doing a mini session at her parents’ house.  Like anytime Kristin and I get togethter- we had a great time (and got some great pictures of a girl who is going to an absolutely beautful bride).

Kristin- in case you didn’t feel gorgeous enough yesterday to be itching to get back into your dress, here are a couple images to help get the excitement up!  Keep in mind that you aren’t allowed to get the dress on before I get there tomorrow!!!!

I must admit that last weekend, I was dreading Becky and Jason’s wedding.  It was a crazy week leading up to it- between taking care of a sick husband and trying to make arrangements to cover the wedding in the event I got what he had- or if he turned out to be the dreaded swine flu and wasting an entire day sitting in the emergency room with him to get tested for it (which they never did- after sitting there for several hours)…  On top of that, I had only met the bride one time and google maps apparently doesn’t have the address I was supposed to meet them at in their system and no one would answer their phones…  all the while, I felt so guilty about making my mom of Pell Photography (www.pellphotography.com) drive all the way in from Cleveland to shoot second for me because Rob was still too miserable to move.

So- yeah, by the time I got in my car to drive out there I was ready to call it a day.  All that changed when I finally made it over to the house for a couple pictures.  Becky looked absolutely stunning and her never faltering smile was, thankfully, much more contagious than whatever virus my husband was fighting with all week. It was so great to see a woman so in love with her soon-to-be husband and without any shred of a doubt that her smile never left her face (even when we tried some serious pictures- the smile prevailed).  The whole bridal party was just as happy and fun as Becky!  These guys were game for just about anything Mom and I could think to throw at them!  I even got the suprise of seeing the pastor from my church, David Zastrow (http://aweddingjustforyou.org/) officiate the ceremony (although he left his son’s bicycle complete with the training wheels at home- he rode it down the isle during the first service I went to).  All in all, it ended up being one of my favorite weddings to have been able to photograph so far (and one of the hardest to narrow down pictures for this part)!

I love these kids!  They are so much fun!Caldwell0702

My mom is a really bad influence…  Ha ha!
This spawned a new house rule- you can only play on the banister while wearing your special tuxedos.
I would laugh my butt off if I get a call from their mom in 10 yrs or so because they slid down the banister while getting ready for prom!Caldwell0693

Thanks Jason and Becky for being such an amazing couple!  We wish you many years of love and happiness!

So you caught me- I am not ready to post pictures from Becky and Jason’s wedding that was this past Saturday (I can’t narrow down my favorites enough- so I need another day or two to decide).  However, as I mentioned- I have all these new favorite photographs!  One in particular is so perfect that I couldn’t help putting it on my main webpage.

On with the contest info-
Stop by the main part of my website (www.rebeccajewellphotography.com and click on the link labeled “Visit Site”, it will be the photo on the left).  Take some time and look around- I have posted a new picture from Becky & Jason’s wedding (it is on there twice) somewhere in the midst of all my older stuff.  Whoever can find it, and let me know breifly describing what it is and where it is will get a free $25.00 print credit!  To let me know you found it, just send me a comment on here.

The winner and mystery image will be posted at 5 PM on Friday.
Good luck and happy hunting!

This year’s wedding season was kicked off with a bang (and a bunch of glitter) as I worked along side my mom to photograph Eddie and Kari’s wedding.  Kari was a bit nervous to start the day, but once she had Eddie by her side there was no hiding her sheer joy.  The wedding and reception were in North Olmsted, Ohio and were absolutely beautiful.  We had perfect weather and were able to spend some time in the park and on a golf course between the ceremony and the reception.

Kari being an absolutely stunning bride (no wonder why Eddie’s expression went from the one on the left to the ear to ear grin shown on the right)

My favorite shot from the park…  I’m sure you can see why!

This was taken at the golf course, we had to wait for a few guys to tee off and move on to get it!  It was well worth the wait.

The glitter…  I don’t think I need to elaborate on why this shot is so awesome!

Eddie and Kari- I just wanted to wish you all the best!

Last weekend was the last of my booked weddings for the summer.  Keith and Lauren’s wedding was a great way to strike an end to my wedding season.  Lauren look absolutely stunning in her gown and there was no mistaking the love between her and Keith.  The ceremony was at St. Albert the Great (my childhood church and the same place I got married last year) and it was as beautiful as I remembered it.  After the ceremony, we went to some various spots around the Cleveland Metroparks Brecksville Reservation.    We made some stops along the way and had a great time.  The reception was nothing short of awesome!  Lauren’s uncle created a slideshow with images from Keith and Lauren’s childhood- going all the way up to the wedding day.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day-

This was one of Rob’s catches- isn’t my hubby great?

Lauren right after the ceremony

The guys- and no, the fence didn’t break!

Ha, ha!  Who can tell me where we are now?

Here’s a hint…

I love goofy formals!

Too bad the bridal party wasn’t dressed in red and grey.
O-H-…….

I love the flower girl’s expression in this one

Wow.

My kids are so gonna be photographed like this!  These two were dancing up a storm before dinner and it was SO unbelievably cute!

Keith and Lauren are enjoying their honeymoon in La Riviera Maya.  Have fun!  Congratulations and Rob & I wish you many blessings in the years to come!

Last weekend, I made the trek to Cleveland yet again to shoot my cousin, Sarah’s wedding. This past winter, I did an engagement session with them at Squire’s Castle. We did have to limit the time due to the cold and massive amount of snow on th ground; but the photographs we did get were amazing. The wedding was nothing short of what I expected. Sarah looked absolutely stunning in her mother’s wedding dress that had been revamped for her (the sleeves were removed as well as a bow by the butt). A lot of the items Sarah used for her wedding were passed down. She wore a pearl necklace that was her Grandmother’s and her purse was hand-crocheted with fabric from an old wedding dress as the lining. (As you can probably tell- I am a sucker for things like this)

Anyway, the ceremony was beautiful and I had my first chance to do some work from a balcony (and I must say that it was love at first shot). After the ceremony, the bridal party climbed on to a party bus- The Retro Rider. This bus was great- complete with animal print cushions and a pole!

The reception went unbelievably smooth- especially since we had to do some pictures during the reception. We did luck out though; the hall’s grounds were unbelievably amazing and we were able to sneak out for a few minutes at a time to get some photos of Dave and Sarah. The DJ was great as well. They were very organized, had the schedule down, were extremely professional (while being fun at the same time), and they played music by Jim Brickman. So if you need a DJ check out Jesse Webb Entertainment- you won’t be sorry that you did!

And with all that being said, enjoy a few of my favorite images from the day…

Look at how gorgeous this girl is. I did nothing to this picture (other than resize it)

Ahh. The balcony shots. <Swoon>

A little ring action

Did you not believe me when I said that there was a pole on the bus?

Sweet dreams!

An awesome shot we were able to sneak in before the bridal party was introduced…

Ha, ha! Do I need to elaborate on this one? *Make sure you enlarge this one to get the full effect with her expression*

Ha, ha! If you could only see the look I got from the bartender when I asked for this drink and plopped the rings in the glass right in front of her!

fully awake+struggling to remove a tux shirt+not wanting his photo taken = Austin

And did I mention that my talented hubby got to enjoy this wedding almost entirely as a guest? Yep! I commissioned him to get one really important shot during the ceremony and he was released for the night. Filling in for him was my mom, and I must say that she had a couple gems come off her camera for her not working with a real camera in decades!

Here are a couple of her lovely images-

Congratulations Dave and Sarah!

Congratulations to Rick and Jessica!  They got married this past Saturday on her family’s farm in Akron.  I must say that everyone and everything was absolutely stunning!  The entire day was so low key, fun, and all about what really mattered- sharing this big step in their lives with the people who they cared about most.  Thank you Rick and Jessica for giving me the chance to work with you as well as the breath of fresh air your wedding provided!  Congratulations and many blessings in your future!

This past weekend, I got a chance to photograph the wedding of my friends from Cleveland- Jeff and Ronda. It was absolutely amazing! Not only was it great to work with my hubby by my side, but I was surrounded by great friends all day. Plus, Jeff and Ronda were not at all like a typical bride and groom so they kept Rob and I on our toes right up to the end! We got some amazing images! Sorry! I wasn’t able to narrow down my favorites any more than this!

Most brides you catch crying or freaking out before the wedding…  I caught Ronda dancing!

And Rob caught Jeff all excited as he got into his car to leave for the church!

Another one of Rob’s… didn’t he do a great job?

Quite possibly the BEST formal picture ever!  I love the Vineyard!

This one was definitely my husband’s!

And he did a great job on this one too!

This was quite possibly the most action-packed kiss chase ever!

Can’t you just see her saying “aww come on honey- it’s just a little piece”?

Congratulations!  I hope you are having fun in La Riviera Maya!
