Hello everyone (and sorry for neglecting my blog)! I have been doing alot of behind the scenes work to get ready for next year. Mini Kiss Albums

As wedding season is winding down, I am doing alot of work to get ready for next year. I am presently working on everything from advertising to a new pricing list (featuring lots of new products). The joy of working with new vendors is definitely getting new sample items to share; and there will be alot of that in the coming months. I plan to offer 5 new album styles including 2 styles from the awesome handmade Italain Album Epoca line, the Zookbook with the impressive Reflectionz Cover, the stunning Kiss wedding book, the Ambiance guestbook album, digital photo albums (oh- yeah they’re coming), and so much more. My first new sample came in today (as you can see I am quite excited about my samples)- the new Mini Kiss Book.

The Mini Kiss Book is available with the purchase of a larger Kiss Wedding Book for $80 each (for a 20pg album) or you can get a set of 2 for $130. In the past, the Mini Kiss Book was press-printed on to a thin paper with a paper cover. Now, they are (completely awesome and) made to look more like the original album with a matching leather cover and heavier pages with photographic paper. Plus, I no longer have to order them in quantities of 9- making them much more reasonable. The mini kiss book is perfect for parents (makes shopping for Christmas presents your first year together incredibly easy) or even a purse album for you to carry around with you (its light, conveniently sized, and you don’t have to worry about damaging your main album). Don & Ellen

Last weekend, I got the chance to do an engagement session with Don and Ellen. The weather was quite iffey and Even while we shooting, I wasn’t sure the weather would hold out. Thankfully, it did long enough to get some great shots. I was really looking forward to getting the chance to work with Don and Ellen- right after meeting them, I liked them. Ellen is a woman after my own heart- she loves sweeping landscapes, classic elegance, photography, Indian culture, and even working with people with MR/DD! One thing I can say about her that I wish I could say about myself is that she knows exactly what she wants. It’s clear in her relationship with Don that she has exactly what she wants and she wouldn’t give it up for anything (it’s also quite clear that he considers himself the luckiest man alive to be the one lucky enough to marry Ellen).

We started out by stopping by a set of train tracks around the corner from where Rob works

After feeling a few sprinkles, we drove out the Japanese Gardens by the Historical Society

They did this one all on their own…

Would you believe that this guy is camera shy?

There were so many wedding parties at the Japanese Gardens and the Art Museum, so we decided to
take the road less traveled and walk over by Shakespeare Hill.

This was another idea of Ellen’s… Working with these two makes my job so easy!

Last weekend, I was out by Shakeaspere Hill taking engagement pictures for Don & Ellen- we were fighting the weather the whole time so I grabbed this as we were walking to th next spot.

While I was working on some more of Samantha’s portfolio pictures, I found an adorable one of a moment shared with my baby girl…

This was taken while shooting a boudior portion in my studio. Pixel decided that she was tired of Samantha getting all the attention and wanted some love from the camera too. Sure, I may be pathetic for posting this, but you have to admit- it is too cute to sit in a folder buried away on my computer!

Earlier this month, I went home for an old friend and former neighbor’s wedding and was so happy to be surrounded with friends I had grown up so close to that I consider family (that post will be coming soon- I promise). After connecting with Samantha, the cousin of my neighbor growing up, I discovered that she was considering going into modeling and wanted to put a portfolio. I managed to talk my mom into coming out to Buffalo with her for the job; which we did this past Sunday. It was a marathon day, trying to shoot for an entire portfolio, and by the end of the day we were unbelievably worn out.

We started out at the Roycroft Inn in East Aurora-

Then we shot over to Taste to use the awesome alley just outside (and pick up some coffee)…

On our way back, we hit this awesome loading dock near my apartment…

After picking up my husband, we headed up Broadway to shoot by a wall that I have been dreaming of using for almost a year now…
Oh yes, we used the blue brick wall!

After that, we jumped over to the Japanese gardens and History Museum

And we finished off at my studio…

Pixel decided that she wanted in on the action and pounced on Samantha just after we took this one!
To make it even more amusing, she came from in between the backdrops!

I had a great time working with my mom and Samantha. Thanks for a great session and good luck with your modeling career!

Creation Museum

Hey everyone! Sorry to have been silent for so long! I have alot of older stuff to blog about, including parts of our trip to Cincinatti (yes, that was back in August). While we were in Cincinatti, Rob and had to compromise- I wanted to spend most of the weekend at Ikea, and he wanted to spend the whole time at the Creation Museum. So, on our first day there, we hit Ikea (and I suceeded in making Rob fall in love with the store). The next day we went to the Creation Museum until lunch and then back the next day. Honestly, I was dragging my feet about going- I wanted to stay back and go swimming, sleep in, or o back to Ikea. I ended up being happy that we had set aside 2 days for the museum. If you are ever in Cincinatti, I highly recommend stopping by! Here are a few of my favorite shots from the museum-

Is that there were so many displays with really interesting lighting.

A couple weeks ago, I managed to get together with an old friend (and a favorite model) for some pictures. She brought a couple of friends along to hang out while we worked. We had alot of fun and got some awesome pictures!

Dan & Kristin

We met Dan & Kristin through a mutual friend last summer at Buffalo’s Italian Festival and Rob & I were really excited when we got the phone call to schedule a consult. After having spent only a few minutes together, it was as if we had been friends for much longer. Over the past few months, Rob and I have really enjoyed getting to know Dan & Kristin. We had so much fun with their engagement session (despite the blistery cold). Their wedding day was nothing short of what we expected- it was really like being there for a close friend on her wedding day. Their relationship has such a fun dynamic and it is nearly impossible not to want to join in! Thank you guys for being so awesome and for having us along on your big day!

Now that I have your attention- on with my early favorites for the day…

I had the advantage of getting to the house while the girls were still at the salon-

The time has come to post the contest results…

These are the bride and groom’s rings placed on some fake grapes (I do agree with Sarah that they look like blackberries) that were on a table with the guestbook (it was out in the hallway, just before you walked in to the banquet room).
